Casio Titanium Pathfinder or Citizen Eco-Drive.

Have both, love both, just avoid the Aqualand in a rubber strap. There is a new military style eco-drive that's very basic and reasonably priced.

If you want a tough automatic at a great price the Seiko Divers are tough to beat. I like the SKX007. Mine was customized by Bill Yao.

The G-Shocks are the answer to most every watch question bout needing a tough watch on a budget. They are must have gear.

I've got a Ti Casio Sea Pathfinder. It's pretty good overall, but the pins that attach the metal bracelet are pretty small and pass through plastic to secure it to the watch. I go through about 1 set of pins a year, and the plastic that supports the bracelet is slowly giving way.

My next watch will probably be a Casio Mudman or another Pathfinder if the design of the strap/bracelet is more robust than the one I have now. I've always wanted one of those Marathon SAR watches, but I can't live without an alarm on my watch.

Boy did you pick the wrong crowd to make that silly statement in.

I'll put this up against a Luminox any day.

I bought it mostly for the compass. I think the G-Shock Pathfinders have a compass, but they're also about the same price...Otherwise I'd jump on one.

Well my third one in as many months shit the bed.

I quit. I'm not buying any more watches and it's a damn good thing work pays for my cell phones or I'd stop buying and carrying those too.
    Marc,

I still have that G Shock I bought from you and still wear it for a beater! Works Great!

As for a great tool watch: A atomic solar G-shock. No batteries needed and synced to the atomic clock!

I guess I am kinda odd in that I really like the MT-G series G-Shocks (the hybrid resin and metal case with a metal band). I actually just put one on Ebay (MTG900DA-8V). They are great watches, but I just picked up a MTG910DA (the all black version). I haven't had them long enough to say, but hopefully the metal band will keep me from replacing the band every year or two. We shall see.
