I think that people get too into the weeds with the flip flopping on positions and ‘gain of function’ attacks on Fauci. I think he should be held accountable for what is a clear cut and easy to understand line of attack.

He was in charge of our response to events like these since the 1980s. We had already had 2-3 events in the 2000-10s that showed how fast a pandemic could happen.

Why weren’t there supplies for a pandemic? That is a NATIONAL level responsibility. You can move resources around the US to address local issues, but if there is a pandemic you need the resources in place before it happens for a national level event. I’m talking 400 million people. 30 million frontline healthcare workers and critical infrastructure.

Thank God that this Pandemic wasn’t the one that we had feared- R>4 and a 5% kill rate that my buddy around Milan was seeing early last year- and that it affected people in the last 10 years of their lives not the first 10- but either naturally, or from a govt lab— this will happen again, probably this decade.
Crappy masks and political parlor tricks aren’t going to save us next time. I don’t think people realize how close our food production industry came to seizing up, especially meat production.
It’s time for Fauci to face the music on something that he had direct control and responsibility, is easy to understand, and might actually help next time.
