Only with water, we didn’t use shotguns or explosives.

The water version sounds better. The plant near me had it done with explosives and shotguns.

I've had pretty good luck with Zero G hoses.

I have always spooled mine in a large figure 8 pattern with good success...

I have never heard anything but positive things about Eley hose reels and hoses from people I know who own them.

I stumbled on this Project Farm video. His videos are great. Maybe it might give some insight?

I have one I use for spraying lawn chemicals when I don't want to drag a heavy hose around. You can make it kink but you almost have to try to. It is too restrictive for anything where you need volume IMO.

ZeroG Pro's (which most of mine are) are 3/4".. they flow a ton more than the standard 5/8 version and plenty more than your normal 5/8 rubber garden hose.

I'm a contractor. I use 1-1/2 or 2-1/2 fire hose more than I use garden hose. But when I do I use high quality rubber or EPDM professional grade hose. 3/4" or 1" hose with heavy duty "crush proof" brass fittings. Depending on what you get it's gonna run between $1-2 a running foot. 25 to 50 ft lengths. Screw 100 footers.

At home, I keep one 15' hooked up and coiled. Everything else is coiled and stored in milk crates. Various nozzles and sprayers get tossed n the middle of the coils in the crates. Trash can works too, but it gets heavy as hell.
