Big Army/DoD is trying to develop these Next Generation Squad Weapons… USMC has moved to the 416 platform… and yet the JSOC units at the very tippy-tip-top sharpest point of the spear are mostly going “backwards” to the DI AR platform.

I’d call that a clue.

Yes, I had heard that a few months back from a friend who is retired from those circles now. The rifle is Geissele but I believe they are using the Surefire OBC (Optimized Bolt Carrier group). Out of curiosity I've searched for those Surefire OBC's for quite some time and they are not in stock anywhere, and have not been for months.

I hadn’t heard that about the Surefire being the BCG, but it’s an excellent question and I’ll find out from him if that’s indeed the case.
