Remember though...dodgeball is a trigger for people. It's a sport for bullies. It is banned in playgrounds everywhere. It will never become an Olympic sport.

I was gonna edit, but it got too big. Just gonna double up.

You mentioned moonwalking? Yeah, Paris 2024 "Breaking" as in breakdancing will debut as an Olympic event. I shit you not.

While not exactly events, I think they should add some "extra credit" medal categories. Like "Best virtue signaling during an event " and "best display of woke pique during an award ceremony".

If they really wanna up the ratings, broadcast the CCTV of the Olympic village quarters. Apparently it's quite the bang fest, at least in most Olympics. This time some athletes are actually complaining about the restrictions and not being able to enjoy the traditional "Olympic comaraderie".

And am I the only one who has had ENOUGH of the Simone Biles thing.
I mean I get it. She had a lot of weight on her shoulders, and she cracked. Outside of her own ambitions and desire to compete she gets loaded down with all of the pressures of national pride, scorn if she "let's us down", and with all the crap right now it's multiplied over race/political crap. I'm sorry she had to deal with that and I understand. She doesn't deserve to be ridiculed and shamed. But J. - H. - C., she's not a HERO for breaking down either. No shame, no false praise, just a little understanding and call it good and leave the girl alone.

"Magic: the Gathering" as an Olympic event.

Perhaps it is time to introduce Olympic beer shotgunning followed by three wheelers jumping over the muddy creek while towing a partner in a garbage can event.

It will be no-contact and for points though.
One half of the team will toss soft foam balls printed with sunflowers and unicorns at targets on a wall, while the other half will simply run at a pace that maintains their ability to be stunning and brave yet without overtaxing them mentally, back and forth across the width of a basketball court shuffle-crab style as many times as they can in the time limit per match while encouraging propaganda slogans are shouted at them via bullhorn. More points will be awarded for hitting 'close' to a target than actually striking it to avoid perpetuating cycles of violence against the rainforest by wasting paper.
There will be no winners and losers to avoid exclusionary practices; points will be validated by a diverse panel of indigenous community activists from around the world. Overt displays of aggression or scoring to many points in a dominating fashion can result on point deductions and player bans. If a white player scores to many points, half the points will be deducted and redistributed among players of color.
At the end of the match, More-good-doers will get five minutes on the podium to denounce their social crime of choice via spoken word.
    Less-good-doers go to gulag.

This guy would be world champion, too bad he passed away a few years ago.

I remember the Olympics was one of the few times we actually made a point to not go outside so we could watch it. I guess we got to enjoy the real thing.

It's not even about competition anymore, it's so much drama club.

Personally in real Olympic competition some can't handle it physically, some can't handle it mentally, some a combination of both. If you get there you are one of the best. I'm not gonna love or hate a gymnast simply because they fell down and were expected to go gold.
