Wrestling is not out. It starts August 1st. Weightlifting is not on the chopping block except for here in the US because we haven’t had anyone even close to medaling in the last several Olympics.

I missed that it had been reinstated. Last I heard it was gone. Looks like it's back on the menu for 21 and 24, IOC is looking to dump some traditional events for more blingy modern get viewers and sponsors crap events.

But as mentioned Dressage has gotta stay, upper crust euros and hoity-toity Ameririche gotta get theirs.

We've watched some swimming. My kids are swimmers and the wife swam in HS so they get into it. It was interesting to watch. From the stuff I've seen the swimmers are not being too woke and concentrating on swimming, and standing with hand over heart for the anthem.

I laighed when the purple unicorn and her team lost to Sweden 0-3 and drew Australia with nils. If they worried about playing instead of kneeling and making points on TV...

And I laughed even harder when France (of all places) beat the NBA crybabies SJW team...

I've not cared about the Olympics, except I did watch a lot of the parade of Nations (but not the rest of the opening), and some swimming. I think NBC has more time allotted to commercial breaks than to actual broadcasting of events, of heaven forbid, their awful human interest woke crap interviews and stuff.

I've been tempted to do what we did in 2012 for the London olympics. Get a VPN set up and watch the BBC coverage. Back then it was FAR superior to the NBC coverage, and I would think it would still be better today. But I've progressed to the "I don't care enough" mode to bother with it now...

Any foreign coverage is bound to be better than the NBC crap. Especially when NBC puts their actual daytime coverage on specialty cable or pay only channels like CNBC and NBC Sports. You can stream if you pay as well. Screw that. (vs the dreadful primetime on normal NBC)
