Tell us about your use, why you chose the parts you did, and how it shoots

This is just a general use weapon. Like I said, nothing fancy. I haven't shot it yet, but hope to maybe sometime today if time permits. With the exception of the bolt, barrel, and trigger I used parts manufacturers that I was familiar with. I chose the Faxon bolt and barrel because I had looked around the net and read reviews on them. As with any product there was a mixed bag to reviews, but even most of the people who recommended other manufacturers said that Faxon was a great barrel. Plus I like a 1:8 twist and Faxon was one of the companies that even offered that. I chose the bolt because I figured having a bolt and barrel from the same company I would probably not have any issues with headspace and timing, and I didn't. I chose the Rise Armament LE-145 trigger because I like the 4.5 lb trigger pull.

I think that is a really solid first build and a great choice for a general purpose rifle. I especially like that you used the same (not bottom shelf) manufacturer for the barrel and bolt. Reduces the chances of tolerance stacking and headspace issues. I applaud your lack of Chinesium and neon cerakote as well

What optic are you going with or are you sticking with irons?

I appreciate the comment. Reducing the chances of headspace issues is exactly what I was going for by using the Faxon barrel and BCG. I have a Romeo 5 red dot that will be here today for it and will eventually probably put a 3x magnifier on it. Haven't shot it yet, but I did make up 20 dummy rounds and cycled them through with the charging handle and it worked perfectly. Next step is at the range this weekend.

Faxon was the worst barrel I ever bought or shot. I truly wish you better luck.

Good job, man. Doing a build like this is a great way to learn about the rifle and how to maintain it.

Why those retarded KNS pins? USGI ftw.
    Does the Rise require them?
Other then that, i love the simplicity.
