Interesting to note that Sig turns out to be the only ones the Mexicans AREN'T suing... and whether they continue to seek the sale or pull out should be a litmus test of where they stand with the industry and with us.

SIG Switzerland? I don't believe so. However the JP Sauer of SIG / Sauer was a German firearms manufacturer. To sell the SIG handgun P220 was first if memory serves, in order to not violate Swiss export laws they had to team up with JP Sauer the the handguns were actually manufactured in Germany.

As for FN, they didn't have much choice in the matter. When the German's blitz through your country in two days and tell you to start making guns, you start making guns.

After the war the Germans wanted to buy the rights to manufacture the FAL as the G1 and FN told them to FO. So they turned to the Cetme which was adopted as the G2 which eventually was refined into the G3 when former Mauser employees were able to set up HK on the old Mauser site.

Wife's uncle had a Nazi German proofed Browning High Power from when he was in WW2... Unfortunately for me he gave to his loser nephew before he passed ... Funny how estranged family comes around near death.

Given that the Cartels own the military and the cartels were actually formed from a nucleus of US trained Mexican special forces who were intended to knock out the drug trade but actually took it over by absorbing the power vacuum they created I'd say it's a safe bet they will get as many SIGs as they request.

It was just the Zetas who were ex Mexican SF guys. They were originally the enforcement wing of the Gulf Cartel, and then they got big enough to turn on their former employer and form their own cartel. They were probably the most violent and aggressive of the cartels, but they aren't as elite as they used to be; most of the original ex-SF guys are dead or in prison, and they've apparently had a lot of internal fractures, so they aren't as powerful as before.

It’s fictional, but based on the whole Mexican SF cartel enforcers taking over and eventually becoming the cartel. There is more to it, as it’s a few intertwined stories involving one specific drug shipment, but it’s worth it and I’d recommend it to anyone into that kind of stuff.
