One of the problem with adjustable gas blocks has been getting carbon locked/stuck.

What prevents the Riflespeed from getting stuck?

I haven't shot mine enough to have that issue yet, but the instructions say to put a drop of CLP on the plunger and work it back and forth after every shooting session. Not sure if that is helping anything, but I do it.

It probably will carbon lock if you don’t clean it occasionally. The oil method will probably suffice for a while but I’d probably do a more a more aggressive cleaning every 2-3K rounds.

FWIW, I remove the adjustment screw in my SLR gas block every hundred or two rounds, clean it and re-lube conservatively. It does start to feel a bit sticky after a hundred or so rounds.

I imagine it would if you set it, leave it and never rotate it or lube it, but with a little maintenance it should be GTG.

The rifle speed will stick, but the large knob helps with that. But I recommend keeping it well oiled

All the way open, what is the equivalent gas port?

I could see that if your gas port is only so big, as you open the gas block past the flow of that port you’d see no difference.

Seems like a cool gas block, but for it to be ideal it needs a certain gas port to assure it flows.

Any info here would be appreciated. Like to build a 16” mid upper but down know what size gas port

All the way open, it would be the same as the gas port in the barrel.

No adjustable gas block can make more gas than the barrel.

The ideal case is generally to buy a barrel with a properly sized gas port and drive on
