When we got our new home some 3 years ago I consolidated everything into surplus crate chests that I had from when we went from CH-46s to Ospreys. You can buy these pretty cheap, but also work great for parts tools.

Otherwise all my gear and surplus mags and ammo are in Steralite totes on industrial shelves in my basement.

You can buy this stuff on Government Planet (https://www.govplanet.com/Shop%2C+Wa...0&kwtag=navbar), its fairly cheap but you have to search for what you want.

Ammo cans and the larger plastic ammo crates or whatever they are called. AR mags in one, Glock mags in one, S&W in one, you get the idea. Write on the thing what's in there. A small pile of most pistol mags fit in a .30 can. Store 1 mag for each gun with the gun (same safe, nearest it will go, or in the gun, depending).

Have a few of whatever I'm using at the time on the bench or in the range bag.

I keep one of those in the console in my pickup. They're a great deal at $15 but the plastic hardware is flimsy and not hard use so I wouldn't plan on them lasting if you're gonna lug them around. I ended up removing the plastic hardware and securing the strap to the carrier with paracord on both sides. Still worth it in my opinion.

Good to know; I was thinking "stored much and slung little"--mainly for keeping preloaded spares together for the range and storage, not serious Run & Gun. Tactical Tailor is based out of the JBLM area, I could call them and see if they could do a little custom work to upgrade the hardware.

At that point you'd be jumping over dollars chasing dimes on a $15 carrier. I only replaced mine with paracord after one broke.

My AR & AK mags stay in 50 cal ammo cans.
Pistol mags & anything miscellaneous (mags that I only have three or four) are in MTM AR 15 mag totes.

One slot is big enough for two double stack or four single stack pistol mags.

Case Club also has a similar case that holds like 30 pistol mags.

I have a few of the BenchMaster foam blocks, a few for double stack & a few single stacks for my range bag. Pricey.
