    CZ75 B Retro

I picked up a CZ75 B Retro yesterday. The Retro is basically like a regular CZ75 B except that it has a rounded trigger guard and spur hammer like the older CZ75's once had. It's a beauty. The slide is marked 21.

I decided to compare it to my pre-B. They're similar, but the Retro isn't an exact copy of the pre-B. The Retro is on top and the pre-B is on the bottom.

The two most obvious similarities are the rounded trigger guard and the spur hammer. I like both of these more than the squared trigger guard and commander hammer. If I could only have a regular CZ75 B or a CZ75 B Retro, I'd take the Retro.

There are other differences as well between the Retro and my pre-B. The front sight on the Retro is dovetailed. I think this is an improvement over the pre-B's non adjustable front sight. The slide release of the Retro is bigger and easier to grip than the pre-B's slide stop. The manual safety of the Retro is flatter than those on most of my CZ's. It's like one that I have on a compact. I prefer the pre-B's wider manual safety. The aluminum grips of the Retro look cooler and are obviously higher end, but from a functional standpoint I prefer the pre-B's plastic grips. The Retro's magazines hold 17rds each, so they're better than the pre-B's 15rd magazines assuming they work. And finally, there's the B part. If I was going to carry one, then I'd prefer the Retro's firing pin block. If I was going to only use the pistol for range shooting, then I'd prefer the pre-B's lack of a firing pin block which in theory would yield a better trigger pull feel. All in all, I'd say that the Retro is an improvement over the pre-B and the regular CZ75 B.

    Nice!

    I have a P01.

I have to admit I look at all of the little parts in the "cage" / decocker mechanism and think, "I REALLY hope nothing ever goes wrong in there I have to fix!"

Otherwise it's very accurate and has been totally reliable although its round count is still low.

Beautiful gun…not a huge fan of the billboard RETRO title but the idea is excellent. I really enjoyed my pre-B aside from tracking down mags…might have to take a look at one of these.

I tried to like the 75s and in the end, they aren't for me. But it is interesting how everyone is jumping I to thr nostalgia market.

CZ, GLOCK, Beretta (never really left persay), and even SIG did for a short period with their M11A1 and P225A1. Plus the retro ARs all coming out and of course thr wheel guns from S&W and Colt.

I did get myself a retro GLOCK P80 simply because I didn't have a legit Gen 1 in the stable.

It goes nicely with my other two originals.

I can say this, the CZ looks much better with a spurred hammer and rounded trigger guard.
