2021 CA Gubernatorial Recall Election

This is going to be interesting. The recall ballot has 46 candidates, not including Newsom. 46!

If the majority of the electorate votes for recall, the candidate with the most votes wins. No need for a majority, a plurality will suffice.

CA may be the bluest of the blue states, but the last time there was a recall election in 2003, a Democratic governor was recalled and replaced with a Republican.

The Democratic machine is sweating buckets. They've put more effort into fighting this recall than they did getting Newsom elected. Even more telling, the Newsom camp is dead silent. No pronouncements from the governor's office regarding the renewed mask mandates, nothing at all. I can't remember the last time I saw his smug face in a press conference. It feels like he's lying low.
