Sig Tread 716 & 716i...Is there a difference?

I'd say it is. I've been looking for an AR10 for awhile now, and I kept coming back to the Sig 716i and the Savage MSR10 as the best values. I ended up going with the Sig b/c it was in stock. The only negatives I've heard about it are that the charging handle sucks, and it has a very heavy trigger. Even if I were to change those out, it'd still be a decent value.

On my 716i I replaced the charging handle with the ambi one from SIG and I put JP 4.5 lbs springs in the stock trigger. Fun gun to say the least even without those upgrades.

I can't for the life of me find one of those Sig ambi charging handles in stock anywhere.

A google search shows it being at the website listed in the url, I have never used them nor do I know if legit or not. Shows as being in Montana for a physical location.

I understand the desire to keep it all Sig, but you'll likely be better served by BCM charging handle.

From what I understand, this charging handle is made specifically for this particular rifle, so others won't work.

For a company like Sig, with nine (9) plants and over 3,000 employees in the USA, it is amazing that everything they list on their website is "out of stock." I like Sig but it can be frustrating sometimes when you need something from them.
