I was young when prop 187 came around.
I remember asking my dad about it one day on my way hone from school. He told me that if we didn’t stop the illegals from flooding the state they would be the tool by which leftists would inexorably change California. Everyone I knew was excited about it and happy when it passed.
And then a federal district judge said that the will of ‘We the people’ was unconstitutional.
And our Republican Governor refused to file appeals
And then his Democrat replacement officially dropped it, to the applause of the leftists.

It’s why I laugh at people who believe that voting matters:they will either cheat (been happening all over way before 2020), or simply invalidate your votes at court.
And people who think Republicans will save us. Lol. They hate you just as much as the left does, but at least the left is an honest and open enemy. There is no Republican politician alive that isn’t cut from the same cloth as Judas Iscariot. Not even Trump.

Your perspective mirrors my own.

CA voted against illegal immigration and gay marriage, and by a large margin too. The government basically said, "well you all voted against it, but we are going to go ahead and do it anyway." I remember thinking way back then that we are screwed. We have no voice. No representation. The government has gone rogue and we are at their mercy unless we choose to fight. When Bush did the Patriot Act, I knew we were finished as a nation. Things have steadily declined in CA and the nation since then. Frankly, I'm pleasantly surprised things are not far worse than they are. I was expecting full communist dystopia by this point.

I agree that the people who think voting matters are laughable, but so are the people who think all Californians are leftist whackos and wish death upon everyone in the whole state.. There are definitely some vocal leftist whackos in this state, but its no different than any other state in that regard. Get anywhere near Austin, New Orleans, Altlanta, etc... and you'll see it there too. Any big shit hole city in any state. How come people don't wish all of Texas will fall in the ocean when the government passes some lefty BS there, or when the media lies and tells us that some leftist BS got voted in? I wish death upon the enemies of my country, not on its citizens who are my allies.

When people get separated from the land they lose their minds. The urbanite is the lowest form of life and when gathered together in massive city-scapes it becomes a cancer of self destruction.

I agree with your assessment, and this is becoming more and more obvious as I grow older. People are absolutely clueless about the most basic biological facts about animals and ecosystems. They seem to be cut off from reality.
