I read one theory that makes a ton of sense, the Humans actually won the war when they scorched the sky, but in doing so, they made the earth unlivable for themselves as well. So they forced the machines to plug them into the matrix to allow them to survive until the earth recovered. Morpheus, Neo and the rest are uninformed terrorists.

That doesn’t comport with the producers world view as I decode it. The matrix is keeping them from becoming gods, so the theory you state appears to conflict with that.

The entire premise of humans as batteries can't work as you have to put in more energy to grow and maintain one than you'd get out, and on it goes. Take the red pill and you will not enjoy the Matrix.

Don’t forget that they use a form of nuclear fusion with the energy from the human batteries.

All of those movies fall apart if you go down that route. They are full of issues like that if you start asking Qs. The entire premise of humans as batteries can't work as you have to put in more energy to grow and maintain one than you'd get out, and on it goes. Take the red pill and you will not enjoy the Matrix.

But seriously - I can enjoy movies and ignore certain logical consistencies IF the movie is good enough to make me forget or not care about problems. OR if the problems aren't glaringly awful enough to interrupt my enjoyment.
The first Matrix movie did that well enough. The rest didn't, but what else to really expect from most sequels, eh?

No because there is always going to be some non-creative writer/director/producer who thinks they can make a better version than the original. Thought the 4th looked like a reboot of #1. Kind of like john wick. All the same plot lines just different gun gaming styles based on who did his training. Trying to be Tom Cruise is going to be hard shoes to fill.

I'm actually trying to see as little of this movie before I actually see the movie. I very much enjoyed the first 3, probably watched the first one dozens of times.

But after seeing the first one the rewatching the trailer and seeing that they show so much in the trailers I've adopted the mindset that as soon as I'm interested in a movie I try to find out as little as possible as not to spoil it.

My biggest hope for this movie is that there are "Guns, lots of guns" in it.

I just wonder why Fishburne isn't it in this one. Seems odd for sure and after some googling, sounds like Fishburne doesn't even know why.

I saw the movies Momento and fight club without having seen any of the trailers. Much better that way. It would be freaky to see the matrix original without knowing anything about it and thinking it’s just some slacker hacker wargame type movie, oh no.

So swap out everybody but Neo and the chick, and the next movie they can swap out those two. Then you’ve got the reboot nice and clean.

I just want them see them try to top the bathroom blow job hotty character.
