Holosun 403R: Less parallax error than my first gen Aimpoint R-1 micro

Everyone's favorite ant-like commies have done it again! They have finally copied Aimpoint's latest optical improvements. My example, a Holosun 403R, features a brightness selector knob that doubles as the battery compartment, nearly identical to that seen on an Aimpoint micro, and shows well less than 4 MOA shift on a target at 100 yards when the dot is viewed at any edge of the field of view.

About the only thing lacking is the coating for passive night vision use. It does have night vision brightness settings, but I would expect light transmission when viewed through NV to be poor.

You gotta hand to them; they’re nothing, if not Very Clever.

Yep I chose this model for a beater because it most closely resembles the Aimpoint Micro series in form and function.

I intentionally treat mine like a redheaded stepchild. So far so good.

FYI it actually sits a little higher than an Aimpoint Micro, so it will not be a true lower 1/3 or whatever when combined with a mount.

Noticed this exact same thing under nods recently using this optic. It has the settings but it's really dark when used passively.

The little bastards will fix it though, you watch. They actually LISTEN to consumers etc....instead of resting on their reputation....

Does it have the shake awake feature?

I've seen it mentioned on at least one seller's product page, but it isn't mentioned in the manual. I'm going to say no. It still has very long battery life though.

This particular model caught my eye because it uses a rotating switch instead of buttons and also contains the battery using a method I'm confident will remain water tight, unlike the ones with the CD-ROM tray style slide-out battery compartments.

Regarding parallax, this guy's youtube channel is pretty good. A little heavy on the background music, but the useful video through optics showing parallax more than makes up for it.

I almost started a post about how with the current gen military gear we left behind in Astan, that China should be coming out with some interesting knockoffs in the next two years.

Clinton may have given them hard drives of tech info, Biden gave them actual sales samples. Looking forward the flood of forgeries that will have small errors in proofmarks, manufacturer logos and such. Sure that's a genuine SIG Tango 6T for $600, it's says so right on the box. Comes with a free ACOC scope.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
