I’m leaning towards that exact one (but he’s booked) or one of his accredited trainers. I’ve dabbled in red dots and shot a handful of matches and didn’t care for it. Def faster with irons, BUT I fully understand that’s not relevant since I didn’t have proper training.

They are in what I call the "uncanny valley" of pistol size just like a Glock 42. Too big for a pocket, too small for a belt.

I think ill get a S&W subcompact 2.0 instead for a carry gun with optic.

    Edited to add:

    Well CRUD!

    S&W doesn't make an optics-ready subcompact!

I want a manual safety and the tiny safety lever on the Shield models is unsatisfactory so that rules those out.

Might have to look into that new optics-ready subcompact FN now.

    Edited again:

Ha! No manual safety option on the sub compact / compact FN's. DOH!
Check out the P365XL. It's a little bigger than the regular 365, Glock 43, and the Hellcat but still very small. Also comes optic ready.

    I'll do that, thanks!

Have you tried the ACSS Vulcan Reticle?

It will all depend on you as a shooter. Are you a good shot? If so you should be able to shoot a micro pistol well. As well as a full sized pistol? Highly doubt it. Most people will shoot larger pistols better than smaller ones for a myriad of reasons. I find any dot equipped pistol is incredible easy to shoot though.

Have both a P365XL and Hellcat OSP with HS507K-X2 sights. Very accurate.

Red dots are game changers for precision at longer shots.

Head and shoulders best is the Holosun 507k. As the Hellcat is cut for the Shield RMS, you will need to take a file and take a few thousandths off the recoil posts to fit the 507k.

I used the CHPWS adapter plate. No need to permanently modify your slide if you don’t want to do so. I didn’t.
