You could still try rocking an IWB holster.

Full size 226 is gonna pull them down, I've tried it. Right now I'm at gun purse or a black web belt over sweats to hold up a paddle mag holster.

Maybe instead of sweats, find super comfy pants with belt loops and use a strong but stretchy belt to hold up IWB clip holster. I do similar with shorts and allows for comfy lazing around the house and couch and shifting your piece from waist to next to you depending on position. Definitely more comfy than a full belt going out setup.

Not doing anything IWB. It goes against 20 years of practiced setup. Also if anything is happening, I don't need to go digging for my CCW, I'll already be playing catch up. Again before I do anything complicated, I'll just get a black web belt and put it on over my sweats and hang my paddle holster on that. It will look sorta goofy but who cares. It will draw slightly more attention but will be manageable.

Mostly wanted to explore and see what existed out there before arriving at final solution.

Sling a belt slide on a riggers belt, use it when wearing gym shorts or sweats.

I know that you said no fanny pack (this isnt one, but somewhat similar)

I use this while hiking, biking, etc and really like it. Can get a little hot if temp is really high, but i like it

My first look would be the Phylster Enigma for your use

Might have to pick one of these up. I like the execution.
