It is strange but true - last night I dreamed there was a store selling kegs of bulk powder and I was so happy.

Well the Cabela's buy me has tons and tons of ammo in most HG and rifle calibers including shotgun ammo but still light on 22lr. Usually has 1-5 1lb jugs of less popular powder and only small rifle mag primers I've seen in over a year. Decent amount of HG & rifle brass and lots of less popular bullets for reloading but no SGK in 308. And yes prices are still preparation H required post purchase high.
But at least ammo is available once again.
I just wish primers and powders would become available especially primers as I have well over 10 years worth of bullets' and powder on hand but not primers.
Primers OTC by me are running 75-100% above 2019 prices or about $50-$60 a 1k
EVERY time as I leave Cabela's I say to myself OVER and OVER TAMG I reload, and TAMG I stock piled, WISHED I had stocked pilled more. Bought my last powder in very large amounts from my LGS back in 2017 and paid $209 for 8lb jug of CFE223, about the same for an 8lb jug of IMR 4064, 8lbs IMR 4831, IMR3031, IMR4166 and average of about $33 for one pound jugs of H4198, RL16, RL17, RL19, RL25, RL26, Tac AA 2520 and paid $33/1k for primers or $150/5k. Biggest hosing I took that day hands down was I paid $239 each for four 5lb jugs of BH209.
Owner of the small M&P LGS said as he rung me up jokingly they were gonna close early and take Saturday off as this was a Friday and they are closed on Sundays.

I lived through 08/09. A buddy of mine and I split a pallet of primers. I’ve used about half in the last few years, but if I don’t shoot high volume, it’ll last me several more years.

This panic seems to have much more sustain to it. Of course the mass propaganda of how "bad" everything is weighs on weak minds and feeds into the frenzy.

One of the best moves I ever made was to start keeping inventory cards years ago. Simple index cards with approx counts of different supplies on hand so I would be able to easily know what I had before buying more stuff.
So I would not get caught in a dry spell with 10k primers but only enough powder to load 2k rounds sort of thing...
