Best way to store a “spare” slide?

I swapped out the factory FDE slide on my Sig P320-M18 with a black one that has an optic and suppressor height sights.

What is the best way to store the original slide (which is complete with firing pin etc) in case I want to use it or sell later? Is putting it in a zip lock baggy a good or bad idea?

That will trap moisture. Put it in your safe and leave it alone. Unless you plan to keep it there for several decades, it will be just fine.
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand

Thanks. I was concerned about moisture, which is why I wanted to ask.

Wrap it to keep from getting dings, etc.

If in a safe or temperature controlled environment, I've had zero issues with unprotected items. Even in SW Florida, only thing I watch is things on the floor. We are pretty dry here with moisture level but better to be safe.

All my guns are climate controlled. Nothing is left exposed to the elements.

I live in a tropical environment. Best is to store it in a climate controlled area with a little anti-corrosion stuff on it. I like Frog Lube, not for primary lubrication but for corrosion prevention. It tests well for this and it is non-toxic. I would not use a plastic bag, rather wrap it in an rag.

Wipe with ballistol and vacuum seal it.

For an extra / unused slide, I just keep it in the parts box for that brand of firearm.

Oil it and put it in a gun sock inside your safe.
