I can see Triji shredding the "beyond use" parts to prevent them from leaking out into counterfeiters' hands, but they should at least be allowed to refurb or remanufacture. I did notice IIRC that ACOG's and most other gun parts have a demil code "D" (destroy beyond possibility of reassembly) in their NSN data...
