These are sold on various websites. From the feedback I've read, some guys have good luck with them seating in their AK's, others not so much. Anybody with any positive/negative experiences with these?

I bought like 10, and they work in my SAR-1.

Disclosure: I am affiliated PRN with a tactical training center, but I speak only for myself. I have no idea what we sell, other than CLP and training. I receive no income from sale of hard goods.
My only complaint would be the Yugo style followers that function as a bolt hold open.
They are kinda a PITA and slow mag changes with friction between the mag and bolt, also when you pull the magazine the bolt obviously doesn't stay open. When I had a M70 I bought dozens of Yugo mags but eventually got rid of all but one, and I kept one simply to have a correct magazine for the rifle.
When I sold my Yugo (when prices got retarded) I gladly sold the magazine as well.
If it's all that is available, it's better than nothing, but it's my least favorite AK mag.

I bought a ton of them several years ago from Palmetto State Armory for $6 each. Some of the initial batches were too large for some of my AK's. Later production seemed to have rectified the problem. I recently purchased 50 Matra 30rd steel magazines from Aim Surplus for $9 each plus shipping. They turned out to be Croatian 30rd. The few that I tested all locked in a variety of AK's. More recently I purchased a case of 60 Bulgarian magazines from Atlantic Firearms for $600. They each come sealed in their own oiled plastic bag. They look great and lock in a variety of AK's without issue. I'd say that the Bulgarian ones are the best deal overall right now if you want 60 for $10 each plus shipping. My only complaint is that I included a note for Atlantic to put the case box inside another box for shipment. They decided to ignore my request. The box showed up with a gaping hole in the side. Fortunately, the inside black bag was enough to keep the magazines inside, so I didn't lose any.

I’ve got about a dozen, all bought at the same time.
No major complaints but half of them were spec’d slightly differently. Half fit my AK63DS fine but needed slight filing to fit my ‘13 WASR. The other half needed slight filing for the DS and more filing for WASR.
I do think the Bulgarians are slightly nicer but the Croats do have steel baseplates & followers.
I don’t care for BHO so I just swapped em with non-BHO steel followers.
Croat steel isn’t as heavy as surplus but heavier than Korean KCIs.
KCIs aren’t the best, but I’ve never had to file one to fit, and come in 20 rounders. Never had a malfunction.
The new black KCIs seem to be a bit better made than the older grey ones.
Biggest gripe on the KCIs is the feed lips are two layers of thin steel while surplus and most euro new mags just use thicker steel.
