And being treated for terminal cancer. The comments in this thread on his dying and being vaccinated are in very poor taste and unnecessary.

Get in shape !!!! Jab is not the fix !

Would be curious which jab he got an when ?

IMHO still its about diet and health and avoiding the processed foods and industrialized seed oils and sugars and being in metabolic shape whish is only about %12 of our population ! Scary so many are out of shape and think they are cause they follow the crap SAD diet or think they are eating healthy and being lied to about the trurhs of so many foods
Not sure how being in shape has to do with it. I know some fat, completely out of shape drunkards that had it and recovered fine. And then you got in shape guys dying or seriously f'ed up over it. Hard to tell.

He probably died from falling down a flight of stairs and cracking his head. C.O.D...covid.

Thank you for your military service, could have lived without your political "service". R.I.P.

That's a much more interesting topic than his vaccine status. Some accused him of lying to the UN, but my understanding, knowing he could sell it, he was lied to about the evidence and presented it. On learning he'd been used like a $2 street walker, there was a well known fight in the WH after he figured out Bush Jr handlers had used his good rep to sell their BS war. He quit the job mostly due to that, and like a good soldier, kept his mouth shut and blamed it on a massive intelligence failure. Personally, I suspect Bush jr was kept in the dark also about the fictional WMDs, but we will never know. The puppet master of all that was #2, and perhaps SECDEF, the the two NEOCONs with grand plan to reshape the ME. Personally, I think Powell was mixed bag and have no strong opinions about him and do respect his mil career. A balanced read on it I thought:

I also read somewhere years ago that all the 5 I's were getting WMD intell from the Middle East and they all unanimously confirmed Iraq had them before the invasion. I also read that when Bush got the final briefing (alluminum tubes and stuff) his response was that's all we've got. George Tenant CIA said it was a slam dunk in that meeting and at some point Colin Powell was selected to brief the UN. Not sure if that was all protocal or a policial decision.

I use to see him occasionally at the car wash we washed our cruisers at in Mclean, VA. He had a Corvette at one point and spoke to me a few times. David

Wasn’t the vaccine touted as protection for the elderly and immune compromised? He should have survived covid, no? Condolences to his family, I’m certainly not celebrating his or any death, just to be clear. However this is in fact a high profile example of vaccine failure. Fauci has said vaccination would prevent severe illness and death.

Just because a thread mentions COVID/vaccine/etc doesn't mean it has to be about that stuff. Maybe we can just show a little class, honor a soldier's service and distinguished career?

Godspeed General. You were a hero of mine when I was a young man. I didn't often agree with you in later years but I still respect you for your service to my nation. Say hey to ol' Schwarzkoph!

Mods, please don't lock the thread...

There are about 10-15 frequent posters that dump the same covid positions in threads completely unrelated to covid. Which then spirals down, and creates much noise.

I'd like to propose a very simple rule: if the subject line of the original post does not contain the word covid, any subsequent post containing covid related comments (pro or con) are immediately deleted with no warning

Want to argue about covid stuff (pro or con)? Do it in a covid vaccine related thread.

We should not be allowing people hyper focused on the same old covid topics to ruin/lock otherwise useful threads.

Old threads could have their subject lines edited as needed based on the original topic. But from there out the rule is enforced silently and without discussion.

This thread might should be split into one regarding the general's life and similar, the other could be focused on covid, etc. (Though even that one should remain respectful, some folks are making some pretty ignorant comments when the fact is he had blood cancer and treatments that effectively stop the body's white blood cell and immune system.)
