I remember going to the drive in theater with my parents to see Billy Jack movies in the 70s. Good times.

Can't recall the name of the comedienne, but part of her routine talking about Steven Segal "not since Billy Jack has an actor displayed this kind of versatility."

    Love me some Billy Jack!

Met him, and knew his daughter in high school. Tried to make a comeback in the 80s, but production on “Billy Jack Strikes Back” was suspended when he got a concussion on set during a bar fight scene. Apparently he got hit with a non-prop bottle!

Billy Jack was a MUST SEE back in the day.

Have the four film, DVD box set. Watching them now, they are sorta terrible "race baiting" films. Bong Soo Han was the guy doing the actual martial arts in Billy Jack. It was a start and pretty good for a early US "martial arts film" given that the TV show "Kung Fu" hadn't even happened yet.

Aw yeah, great stuff. Tom Laughlin is awesome. Check out “born losers” as well.

Actually probably a better movie although not as iconic.
