Sig P 210-1 & 210-2

I have a first year issue Sig P 210-1 (P49 in Swiss army nomenclature), so made in 1949, serial number A 101811 (serial numbers started at A 100001)

When I saw an ad for the civilian version of that very same gun, as new condition, I couldn’t resist and had to have it. Made in 1950 or 51, serial P 51624 (serial numbers started at P 50001)

Then the same thing happened with a nice civilian P 210-2, twin to the 1954 army one I’ve had for over 25 years

Some may not see the point, the army and civilian guns are virtually identical except for the serial number and one marking.

But that’s what collecting is about I guess

PB, I recall watching a show on rare firearms, ones that cost 1mil+. One guy had a double that was valued at 1.5, they asked him why he was shooting it, his reply was he wouldn't own anything he couldn't shoot and even if broke it would still be worth 1.5 as it was so rare.

Yea, I understand some people just want to collect some of their guns. I have one Dirty Harry ( bought used never shot ) that I dont shoot and one Colt SAA army .22 with box and papers I dont shoot because I have another just like them. Crazy story about my Dirty Harry, I saw this gun on GB but the picture was through a 25 yr old gun counter with scratches galore. Very hard to see even though he said, it doesn't appear to be shot. I asked him for more pictures, it was flawless and bought it cheap. Had the box and everything. The country fck from Aabama ships it in the box in a paper box and it destroys the box. I wanted to die, but the gun is perfect still.

They are pretty good guys and about the only source for P210 Swiss mags now.
