    AR-180B modification?

Okay, have a question: the Armalite (Eagle Arms) AR-180B made 20 years ago had a non-chrome lined barrel and was 1:9 twist. I had one and sold it for those two reasons. Do you guys know of any gun-wizards who could put a chrome lined 1:7 twist barrel on it? Even a Melonited 1:7 twist barrel? It would have to be someone like Marvin Pitts or similar who work wonders.

Yeah, sourcing the barrel would be tough, and likely would be easier to have one made and then Melonited, although chrome lined would be my preference. Wonder if the Brownell's BRN-180 barrel could be made to work?

With the right gunsmith, you could have a blank machined/threaded to fit.

There are other issues with the AR-180B though: primarily the plastic lower receiver breaking at the pivot pin, either when swung open for cleaning and dropped or just with rough handling. There were also examples with upper/lower fitment problems that caused feeding trouble.

Yep, the AR-180B had too many bugs to bear. Probably better off going with an original 180 and trying to go forward from there.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.
