I take such things with a grain of salt simply because we don't all have the same circumstances of carry.
I spent a good portion of my life working with student officers on the range, routinely telling them 'I'm gonna get the mag from your (holstered) pistol' and doing so. If I could reach in and depress the mag release to do, which most holsters allowed, it follows that an object might do the same thing.
In your case, this sounds like a routine occurance with the holster, so I'd try to figure out what is the cause and get a new holster.

Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President... - Theodore Roosevelt, Lincoln and Free Speech, Metropolitan Magazine, Volume 47, Number 6, May 1918.
Every Communist must grasp the truth. Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party Mao Zedong, 6 November, 1938 - speech to the Communist Patry of China's sixth Central Committee
