One big draw for me are the Craig Spegel style grips, which are a HUGE improvement over the thick, clunky slabs Browning put on them.

Sitting here thinking about it a little more - there are great possibilities.

Maybe one with an aluminum frame, or in the Practical configuration (HC frame under blued slide), or all HC, or with high polished flats. Maybe they figure out how to do a reasonable version of old school stippling like Wickmann/Novaks. A steady trickle of variations would keep us coming back for another!

I’m hoping for a TRP version with fixed night sights, rail, VZ grips, match barrel, front strap checkering, and Armory Kote

From what I’ve read and watched all Hi-Power/P-35 mags will work.

Have to watch this... hoping eventually they offer a frame-slide kit that can be cosmetically backdated to a WWII-ish version.

That would be great. I have a couple of Hi-Powers with aluminum frames and it does make a difference. A version with a shorter slide & barrel would be great too.

I think the rare one that people used to covet was the detective model.

I was looking at the Springfield site today and they have a location designed to present multiple models. Just a matter of time.

See the bottom of this page

The 69 dollar question is "when will they hit my local shop?"
