Yeah, people should definitely be going to jail for this, not holding my breathe- unfortunately it seems like you have to be a Conservative to be held accountable for anything these days.

Considering what we have seen to date, Would not be the least bit surprised to find out the DA gave info to the media outlets that favored the narrative they were pushing to effect public perceptions, and hence more like covering that evidence vs any interest in pursuing charges on that outlet. Only way it would happen would be at the fed level, and for obvious reasons, that's a dead end too considering POTUS called him a white supremacist and has no interest in changing/correcting that narrative.

The media at large has always viewed itself above the law under freedom of the press and that has protected them well for a long time. Another political climate and POTUS, maybe an inquiry would happen.

I know he had said that he was going to destroy it anyway, but I can't help wondering what it would have fetched at auction for charity. It would have been interesting for sure.

It's hard not to judge the officers carrying out this unconstitutional deed. I understand they are doing their duty but there comes a time in ones career where you have to do the right thing versus be the person who carries out a unethical, immoral, and unconstitutional order. I'm sure a number of officers found better things to do than shred that AR.

Personally I would not have agreed to it. And would have auctioned it off and donated the proceeds to the child the attacker molested.

Kyle wanted it destroyed. The only reason he wanted it back was to destroy it. The lawyers worked it out to just have the crime lab do it since it was still in their custody.

I'd love to know under what legal theory they destroyed the lawful, private property of an adult who committed no crime. I'm thinking Kyle must have consented this act.

How can Rittenhouse own the carbine if he acquired it illegally?

I think Rittenhouse was 100% innocent in shooting, but based on some of his other actions(such as voicing support for BLM) he isn't quite as portrayed. It is very likely the BLM support comment would have had a very negative effect on his legal fees fundraising.
