My only regret is doing them as an individual. I want to put them in a trust now.
I did my items about a decade ago and it was well worth the wait. I did a 22 can this year and the wait is def much longer, but IMO will still be worth it. Will probably be my last NFA item, although I've said that before too.
I've read also that the $200 price for a stamp was set in 1934 at the introduction of the NFA. With inflation that would be a few grand nowadays. So there's always that consideration to act now or forever be hit with REALLY steep stamp prices one day.

I'm very happy that I've done all of my forms as an individual. I didn't have an issue with my sheriff signing prior to that requirement being eliminated, so I didn't see the need for a trust. The only reason I can see for a trust now is if I wanted to allow others to use my NFA items while I'm not around. Since I don't, there's no point in a trust.

I hesitated for a long time about doing any NFA firearms. Now I have five (5) SBR Form 1 rifles, all filed online and all completed withing an average of 25-30 days. Like many of you I didn't like the idea of being on an ATF database list. But since in my early years I served as an FBI SA, the government (as does Russia) already has an extensive database on my entire life. So, I thought, what to lose. It is fun to be able to own and use short barreled rifles.

I do like SBRs... But the convenience of being able to cross state lines on a whim, and being able to have a short AR loaded in my vehicle will likely keep me in the pistol group as long as possible. Not to mention, **** the NFA and their bullshit registration and tax requirements. I won't register anything I don't have to.

Yeah, you definitely need to go ahead an order a 22 can right off. It is the most fun to shoot of all my cans.

Same, wish I would have started about 10 years ago.

To NFA, or not to NFA?

EFile a lower. Takes less than a month. Swap it for a pistol lower if you need to travel.
I have a 308 can, a 556 can and a 9mm can. And another one from the agency for work.
Personally not into 22’s. But that’s just me.
If I were buying today, it would be the 36M, but the new 46M looks very interesting.
