    What buffer for .308 rifle?

I will be running a AR-15 carbine buffer tube

EDIT: For anyone else doing this, I ordered the KAK LR-308 CARBINE HEAVY BUFFER & their carbine 308 spring to go with it.

I run A5 receiver extensions in mine, so I can run standard carbine buffers. This allows for weight flexibility not offered with standard 308 buffers, without the high price of heavy 308 buffers.

I’ve used same with good results.
No issues with both .308 and 6.5 uppers.

A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

If it is "a rifle" then run a rifle stock with rifle buffer tube and buffer. I suggest H3 or H4 buffer. Easy to make your own heavy buffer out of an H1 rifle buffer by adding tungsten weights. I run an H4 buffer with a heavy/stiff springco spring on my AR.308.
