I sprayed a 50 cal piece of brass with some sort of rattle can clear matte finish, and it came out cool. Sealed the surface from oxidation and gave it that matte smooth feel.

The ammo I am passing to my Dad is 1980 Greek HXP. I pulled ammo out of the French SF clips until I had 80 round of ammo without significant stains, etc after I brushed the cartidges with a nylon brush. Then I loaded 10 new AEC clips with the ammo and inserted them in the new-to-Dad USGI ammunition belt.

    Why complicate things, right?
