Is anyone here intimately familiar with the Peter LaGana-designed tomahawk from the Vietnam War era? There is one for sale locally that I’m interested in buying. I’m 98% sure that it is one of the early Cold Steel replicas. The head and wooden handle are OD green in color and the oxblood leather sheath is unmarked. The head is not marked “Taiwan” as were the later Cold Steel models and is rather loose being secured by two separate wedges. I don’t believe this is one of the ATC reproductions as the handle appears straight through and through the head without evidence of their “step-down” head attachment.

If anybody has any insight as how the originals and later CS and ATC reproductions we’re assembled, I’d appreciate it, thanks
