That, and the fact that this is Rguns... not the most well liked dealer in the industry. Not that he's a fraud or anything. But customers sure don't like him/them.

This may have something to do with it.

Check this out! Some guy from TOS bought some of that IMI .223 from Rguns:

I purchased 2k of the 5.56 IMI ammo from RGuns about a week ago, and it arrived today. Most of the rounds looked fine, but there were some imperfections.
About 15 out of 2k had cracks on the case necks, or other imperfection in the neck which I thought would prevent the round from feeding properly.
About 60 rounds had dents in them, some small, some quite large. Some of these may not feed properly.
24 rounds were soft points. I spotted several hollow points, maybe 10 total, but did not separate them.
6 rounds did not have primers.
13 rounds had a primer, but no powder. I discovered this problem when I noticed some of the rounds were clinking extra noisily, and I decided to pull a couple. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that if you had a primer but no powder, the bullet could be forced into the barrel from the force of the primer alone, leaving you with a squib.

Also the rounds were marked with 223 REM in some kind of marker/ ink on the side.

If you bought some if this ammo, make sure you check it over very carefully before shooting. I spent a long time “tinking” each round with an allen wrench and comparing the sound to one of the rounds that had no primer and no powder. An empty casing makes a slightly different noise than an empty with a bullet seated.

I called RGuns and talked to one of their people, the guy did not think that having a primer but no powder was a dangerous situation. He suggested that I send an email explaining what I wanted them to do with regards to replacement.

I certainly do not feel that I was screwed over on this deal, but I am concerned about the rounds with no powder. Again, maybe it isn’t a dangerous situation, but I thought I read somewhere that it could cause a squib.

    Mark,

I ordered some as well simply to use as range fodder (as if) and from the pics that my wife sent me the ammo looks pretty clean. Obviously I knew that it was surplus and I should expect some issues. Obviously I will be inspecting it closely when I get home before throwing it down range.

Save any jookie looking rounds. I can pull them apart and salvage the components!

    Yea,

From every scrap I can read about rguns, on various forums, and from pics posted on TOS about their 5.56 IMI ammo they are offering, screw 'em.

I wouldnt risk any of my guns to their ammo offerings. I haven't seen a post about their 9mm IMI, but I'm not about to be the guinea pig like some of those poor bastards @ TOS
