    Maybe.

I'd like to find a 2.0 Compact or sub compact optic ready with tall sights in .40 but cannot.

I prefer the S&W pivoting trigger safety over a trigger dingus.

Agreed! I absolutely hate that blade in trigger.

Although, if you don't already have 10mm ammo, good luck finding any right now
Glock20 is the only Glock I liked, much to my surprise.

Hopefully the 10mm dies and a cartridge is designed from the ground up for that purpose to fit in a standard large frame semiauto. Then a properly designed pistol can be made to work properly with that new cartridge.

Because I don’t think you can really get both self defense power and bear defense power 10mm to run optimally at the same time.

Was the 20 not designed and built around the 10mm? Never heard anyone mention reliability issues with the 20 with a wide range of loads. I know a few who hand loaded some hot 10mm for their 20 which they used to hunt with.

The really hot and heavy loads are not good with factory recoil spring weights. Along with the ever popular unsupported chamber arguments, followed by fully supported aftermarket barrels with “match” chambers too tight for that long bullet, it never seemed to be a really sorted package.

Put more simply. The 10mm wasn’t built around those heavy hunting loads.

I thought the 10 was a pretty stout load from the get go...No?

As it was not designed or intended as a hunting load, that makes some sense.
