Lapua just arrived. My immediate observation is that the flash holes are very small. How are you guys decapping these things?
My decap pins are too big for this brass.

My decapping pins are Redding and Lyman Universal. No problems.
And yep, you’ll chase your tail doing that method you did in the FC brass. One change at a time! LOL

Look at these things:
I don't have any decap pin that skinny. I've seen this size flash hole before on some import 5.56 brass.

I didn't notice the hole size before you mentioned it. All I've done with them so far is sized about 25, confirmed length, chamfered the neck, and put in some CCI 450s.
I guess I got lucky when I chose Redding for my dies.

My Palma brass for comparison:

I'd imagine that most decap pin sizes are pretty close. These flash holes are way smaller than any decap pin on any of my various dies.
I get the concept of a small flash hole. And I don't want to ream them out, but there has to be some solution that doesn't involve more exhaustion.

I think I chucked my decapping pin in a drill press and took a file to it to reduce the OD slightly to fit the lapua brass.
That's what I was considering too. Thanks!
I just measured a bunch of my decap pins. Seems most are either .060-.062" or .070-.072", one or the other. I found a 9mm die with a decap pin that would barely fit into these flash holes.
Flash hole measure right around .062" as best I could tell.
I'm wondering if the narrow flash hole might make my Wolf primers work in 6.5cm. They were too mild in 308 with varget. I might load 10 up for the hell of it.
