I bought a runoff of Gunbroker and the gun shop that sent it had it come to me instead of the FFL. I took it to them, they gave me a free transfer for being honest. I called the seller and they were quite concerned...

Happens all the time in my small town. The FedEx and UPS dudes just look at the name on the package. The shippers are as much to blame as anybody, though. I've lost count how many times FFL's have shipped me guns with the customer's name on top and my FFL address below that. FedEx or UPS then delivers to the dude's house because they know everyone here. I've pretty much got it under control now as I've told the FedEx and UPS guys to pay attention.

Whoever arranged shipping actually screwed this up.

FedEx only goes to the address they were supplied with.

I've had it happen a couple of times actually and it's on the individual or shipper who creates the shipping label. FedEx or any other carrier is going to deliver to the address on the label, though they have been known to mess that up.

When I ship a gun, only the FFL address is on the label. Customer information and secondary FFL addresses are on the invoice ONLY. Anyone who puts BOTH on a shipping label is asking for problems.

Not exactly what happened in my case. It was a straight up huge mistake on the part of the shipper. Large shipment too. I didn't even place the order but my name/address/business was in their database and shipped to me instead of my employer. It happened three times. I will not mention names in an open forum.

Not asking for names, but the entity that coordinated with FedEx after taking your order gave them the wrong info. I've seen it happen too, but no shipper changes shipping info, the error happens when a seller clicks this rather than that and it usually comes from a previous order address book.

PM me sometime and I'll give you the details. The shipper did have to actually change the shipping address info and the excuse they gave was ultimately lame and left everyone on our end scratching their heads asking, "Wait, what?" It still gets mentioned around work by the people who know about it. I still get a little bit of nervous excitement whenever I know some of their product is coming our way.

I'll take your word for it. That's crazy if the shipper changes from the info they were given. I'd be looking for 100% refund in that case because they didn't actually ship it to the address provided.
