    Hapstone vs Traditional Flat Stone

Ran into this sale today for Hapstone R2 Black, https://hapstone.pro/index.php?route...product_id=249, $374. I was trying to decide between a traditional flat stone and the R2 Black. If I went with R2 Black which stones would you start with for most knives? I like the idea of traditional stones / guides but this seems to be a step up reading reviews. Merry Christmas

I have the R2 Classic sharpener and a full set of the Gritomatic diamond stones, plus a kangaroo hide strop, some diamond emulsion, and a digital angle finder. Makes for some stupendously sharp knives if you're patient. Necessary? No, but a cool discipline that's gratifying once you hone (pun intended) your skill.
