PSA KS-47 Mods

Has anyone converted a KS-47 to except AK74 mags? I have searched but without much luck. Looks like it has been done but I have not found any details. The barrel would be easy enough, looks like two of the bolt lugs would need to be re profiled. So what about the lower? I do not have any AK74 mags to compare with AK47 mags. How do AK74 mags demensions compare to AK47 mags? Any input would be appreciated.

Yes. I should of been more clear. I have two AR's chambered in 5.45x39. Although they work fine with ASC mags I'm interested in using AK74 mags. I do not have a psa KS-47 but I am interested in buying one with an extra lower, to have one that will shot 7.62 and one that will shot 5.45.

All their stuff looks to be proprietary. The barrel is probably something only they do.

My one experience with PSA AK was not good with regards to mags.

A coworker bought one that wouldn't accept most AK mags. PSA's answer was....gun was "optimized" for gen2 Pmags.

In the long run I'm not sure it worth the time, money and hassle just to use AK74 mags, especially considering their prices now

That’s what I’m trying to figure out is if the juice is worth the squeeze.

I think that any barrel should work, the bcg has been milled to accept ak mags and the bolt has two lugs rounded off to except the ak mags feed lips. The upper receiver it’s self and of course the lower are completely different than normal ar receivers. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I'm an AR47 kind of guy. I had a very short interest in the KS47. I like having the LRBHO, and standard AR15 lower.

There is a member on 65Grendel boards that did exactly what you want to do using a grendel upper. Had success and even PSA expressed interest in what he did. Do not remember his name though. Check it out.
