    Recoil reduction in micro 9x19's

I'm going to give my Hellcat another chance.

It blistered the heck out of my trigger finger. I've since smoothed out what I could and thought about what else I can do to prevent it. One of those will be to ensure I've got as much finger through the trigger guard a possible.

My split times took a hit with this little gun. Its flippy and there isnt much to grab onto.

What else could be tried to cut recoil / muzzle rise?

Would really light bullets be the thing or 147 gr bullets?

I've got some 147's I'm going to try but cant make it out for at least a few days.

I thought I'd ask what kind of ammo is best in these little 9's to reduce recoil and muzzle rise.

    A 9mm S&W Sheild is a pleasure in comparison.

You certainly should try out the 147 grain ammo.

They generally have the lowest muzzle energy of normal loads.

Whether that translates into reduced flip in a micro is another deal.

They actually sell a version with one. "RDP" I think its called.

I dont think I want that on a carry gun. Will also greatly reduce holster options.

    But its something to consider.

I looked that up after reading your post and found this:

It looked neat at first glance - Then I watched their video...

Hellcat might not be the best platform for that, I wasn't a fan either till I shot a comped 43x next to my uncomped one. Greatly reduced muzzle rise and felt recoil, adding one to mine that matches the g48 profile for holster compatibility. I've seen issues in 147gr reliability in pocket guns.

Use an extended magazine. You'll get more grip surface and it should result in improved control.

Doesn't that kind of negate the purpose of a micro 9?

Probably, but then tiny guns are just going to recoil more because of their size and weight. You pretty much either get used to it or make it bigger in the handle or make it heavier. There's no free lunch.
