Shoot a compact .40 or .45 for a while then go back to the 9.

Probably, but then tiny guns are just going to recoil more because of their size and weight. You pretty much either get used to it or make it bigger in the handle or make it heavier. There's no free lunch.

    Definitely agree.

My Sheild isnt optic ready but Hellcat is.

I'm trying to workout an RDS carry pistol.

Probably would have bought an M&P 2.0 Subcompact 9mm if it available optic-ready.

I had a Sheild 2.0 .45. It's not bad but slower to shoot and about 100 rds a session was enough.

I want a Hellcat or similar size / capacity gun in .380.

I'm really just in it for the RDS.

    No thanks. Crappy penetration.

I was thinking 147 gr flat nose. 875-925 fps from that 3 inch barrel I read.

But a 124 gr at 1050 fps might be better

13.2" median depth, 0.5" expansion in Ammunition To Go's test. What .380 load does better than this?

I dont think I want that on a carry gun. Will also greatly reduce holster options.

    But its something to consider.
I looked that up after reading your post and found this:

It looked neat at first glance - Then I watched their video...
