    Customer service experience with BCM

Recently I found that my BCM 9" .300 Blackout barrel, a 9" fluted version had suddenly lost it's precision or accuracy. I fellow shooter brought over his borescope and we found some unusual looking surface. So pictures in an email to BCM resulted in a request from BCM to get a look at the barrel. Nothing to lose and curious on my part I sent it in to their tech. Upon their inspection they found the chrome to be defective and IMMEDIATELY forwarded me a new barrel.

    Old barrel :

This was far more than I expected and extremely generous on their part.

Thank you BCM, and please fellow shooter's support quality companies.

I'm glad to hear they replaced it, but they absolutely should have so I wouldn't call it generous. I'm surprised they just sent you a new barrel though as I would've wanted them to install it. Did you ask them to do that?

No need as I have a pretty good track record on assemblies

Kinda seems like that's the bare minimum that would be expected under those circumstances.

What did you expect? They should have sent you a complete upper as a “We are sorry you had to deal with our lack of QC”

Now THAT would be some customer service. Like said above, yea they did bare minimum.

There would be absolutely no reason to do that.

    That barrel is CLEAN!!!

It looks like the Chrome is fine, but the underlying bore surface has pits for some reason.

That barrel really is amazingly clean! Makes me wonder if whatever was used to clean it might have caused the chrome to flake though.

My thoughts exactly. I scope all of my barrels and there is nothing I can currently do to get them that clean. There is always some residual copper fouling running around in there.
