S&W model 60, Chiefs Special stainless

This one is not mine, but a friend recently bought it for $ 380 at an LGS I introduced him to (some friend, buying nice guns from under my nose). 1979 made I believe.

I am not a big snubby fan since a lot of my shooting is done at 25 and 50 meters. However this is a very nice little revolver complete with box, papers and cleaning rod and sight screwdriver still unopened, so I thought I’d show it here.

    This thing is so tiny

We shot a few cylinders in rapid double action at 7 and 10 meters and it performed really well. Also tried 5 shots at 25 meters and all were on target.

    I’m a little jealous now.

You should be, that is a screaming deal for that little pistol and they are concealable, good shooters.

That's a nice looking J Frame. I bought a Model 60 in 1988 and still have it. The box you have definitely looks like it's 70's vintage. I believe S&W stopped pinning barrels in 1980-1981.

Beautiful revolver and what an incredible deal!

My condolences to you, and my congratulations to your friend!

I pocket or IWB carried a 640 from 1992 until 2018 when I picked up an LCR. Love a J Frame S&W though.

Beautiful revolver, I bought one just like it for my Dad back in the ‘70’s. My EDC’s are S&W Models 340PD and 442-2, both accurate revolvers.

Excellent price on a pinned barrel snubby. The turn line on the cylinder is real faint indicating very little use. With the box and all of the papers a collector some where is probably crying now.

That’s easily $500-$600 around here, all day long…
