    Buffer Starting Point 300blk

Using the Sprinco color chart, what's a good starting point for a build like this.
300blk, 7.5", 72 pistol gas port, full auto bcg, carbine tube, adjustable gas block.
300 std ammo for sure, may run some subs w/o a can.

Thinking to start with H1 buffer and a Red-White Sprinco spring, and then tune gas from there.
Seems to be lots of that flat wire stuff out there but there's no real no reference to be able to choose something like a Strike Industries carbine flat wire spring.

The 4clock ejection zone seems to be tied to "ideal" bcg speed, but if it cycles and locks on empty at 3clock, is that not ok?

I just looking for a good starting point. What say you?

In my pistol i run a carbine buffer standard spring.

In my sbr H2 and white spring.

    Don't see a Red-White spring listed.
    But I see a Hot-White , which is in-between a white and blue spring.

I don't know what my ports are and don't run adjustable gas block.

    Both are extremely reliable.

Run subs and supers in the pistol, sbr is just supers.

On my SBR (10.5” barrel) I run a standard buffer and carbine spring. No issues with subs and a can.

The "hot white" is painted red and white, it's their red-white spring, I guess red for "hot".

Are you getting 4 oclock ejecting pattern?

    BTW both are 8.5"

    Probably 3 o'clock, maybe 3:30

Per BCM on their 300 BA barrels:
These barrels were designed to run with a carbine buffer with subsonic ammo and a H3 buffer with high velocity ammo.

Seems a bit understated. Buffer alone is not a single deciding factor. What about weight of the BCG. What about strong vs less strong spring?
I assume BCM is suggesting no-tune gas block.

I can't find any good matrix of data that might suggest a starting point. I'll install some stuff and then attempt to tune gas for the "ideal" 4oclock. From the stuff I have read, the red-white spring with H1 buffer should be a ok starting point, but we shall see.

On my non-adjustable PSA 8” .300bo I run a lightweight (8.5 oz) BCG, Sprinco yellow spring and std. buffer.

Mine’s pretty undergassed, out of the box it wouldn’t cycle S&B factory subsonic with a FA carrier and std. buffer & spring.

For supers I swap in an H3.
