    S&W 48-2

I have a running WTB ad for ammo, many people stopped shooting, sold the gun and still have the ammo. I get a lot of contacts and buy it at very interesting conditions. Mostly ammo I use and have guns for, but occasionally other calibers too, especially when it’s very cheap.

So in February I got this lot of .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, 700 rounds, cheaper than new .22 lr.

Now I found the perfect gun for it. Very good condition S&W 48-2, 6 inch, from 1974 I believe. Paid $ 860, which is a bit more than I would have liked, but it’s a rare bird around here and condition is really nice. Previous owner said he never fired it.

My hands are too large for those grips (Magnas ?), and this guy was selling two pairs of grips on the internet, expensive, he wanted $ 330 for both, but they’ve been online forever. I made him an offer and we settled on $ 240.

Removed the original ones. Black washers, numbered to the gun. I’ll keep those preciously.

One pair is rosewood NOS, the other one looks like walnut. That’s the one I used

P&R Smiths are just beautiful. Would be hard for me personally to spend that much on a .22 but it's actually a good price considering. And they always look better with the larger Coke grips.

Nice addition to the collection. You will need a vintage 29 now.

Yeah but you also need one with a 8 3/4 barrel.
