It's because people weren't taking care of themselves. Critics of the lockdowns warned officials this would happen from day one, and not only did they not listen, they're now using those deaths that they caused to justify further insanity.

So you have a bunch of people dying of the normal things people die of, but at a faster rate because they weren't seeking treatment or having preventative procedures, and people who were ill were lonely and depressed.

It seems plausible. As I already said if excess mortality is from something other than COVID it is just as troubling. Many people have expressed that they have lost more friends and relatives over than last two years than ever before. I don't think it is all due to clustering illusion and confirmation bias.

I'm pretty sure we are in the middle of a mental health crisis, hell we had a Teacher put her Covid positive Son in the trunk of a car so she wouldn't get it.
People stayed home an awful long time and they got things done for a week or so and then started drinking and turning in to in your face Karen's if they see you out and about without a mask.
