Skip the trigger until later. Shoot some good ammo. The mount thing could be an issue if there was any room for movement.

Hard to imagine it'd make that big a deal for a non-precision rifle if someone as accuracy oriented as Defoor does this:

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

If the purpose if to confirm that the upper puts holes in small groups, I suggest skipping the trigger and buying a Caldwell front shooting rest and universal rear bag. Even a $33 Rock Junior would work much better than a backpack.

XM193 is good for short range offhand practice, but has no place in a conversation pertaining to accuracy. Dry fire practice in your living room makes a LOT more sense than banging away with shit ammo.

Seems to be slim pickings with what’s currently available. No Black Hills anywhere. Is IMI Razorcore a good choice?

I've read a lot of posts where guys are happy with it.

I’ve shot quite a bit of their 77 gr. It’s consistent.

A friend of mine was an engineer at Lake City during the Federal years. The X means it’s for commercial sale. Same lines but made with the intention to sell commercially. Usually around 30-50 fps slower than M193 as well. It’s not over-run and it’s not reject. He said it’s the same quality with conscious changes based on availability of raw components and cost.

Makes sense. That "Rejects" nonsense has been echoed on forums forever.

Not as much nonsense, as nuanced.
