Name the first firearm you personally bought

Not one given or bequeathed to you.

Very first was in 1987 as a young sergeant about to ETS from the Army while stationed at Ft. Knox: Universal M1 Carbine. Was also the first firearm I ever owned period, given or otherwise.

While still there I next bought a Taurus 4" blued .357, then a Norinco AK, then a SA M1A. After those I got out of the Army and moved back to my old stomping grounds.

I currently own NONE of those specific weapons......

Imported German made SIG P220 in 45ACP. Still have it.

ETA, the gun has never malfunctioned, even being worked pretty hard over the years. I came to expect every weapon to be 100% reliable and accurate right out of the box. While that hasn’t always been true, it did ensure I had a very low tolerance for crappy weapons.

OK I'll admit it. I bought a Springfield XD9 from Cabelas when I first moved to Arizona. It's long gone and my tastes have improved dramatically since. Lol

Honestly, I may be labeled a 13er or something like that on TOS, but I didn’t buy anything right out of high school and my parents sure weren’t gun people. So my first was a Rainier Arms AR that I built myself. I never found a built off the shelf unit that I liked. But then I got a couple old revolvers, a Security Six and an S&W 19.

SA mil-spec 1911. Needed a trigger job, but ran like a raped ape with good mags. Love that gun.

Spreewerk P-38 (42 date I think) when I was in the 6th grade. I think $150. Still have it.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

Marlin 1894 CSBL when they first came out several years ago. Oh DUH, you said the first, an Armalite AR-10b circa 1996 when I turned 18. The guys at the Army-navy surplus store where I bought it were Viet-nam vets and promptly hooked me up with modded M14 hi-cap mags too. Mark and Chuck, they were cool guys, they dealt in Class III stuff and always had cool shit on display, gatling guns, M-60's, you name it. My dad almost shit himself when he seen it for the first time, LMAO. Him and his buddies were all hardcore Fudd's, lol. I took it with me to deer camp that year and caused lots of controversy, lol. The Marlin was the last one I bought...
