Two Kimber Det 1 on GB

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.

Lots of goobers on addicts. The seller on addicts asked for $8K, wonder if he got what he asked for.

    Bwahahahahahaha! $8k for a maybe $1K gun.

Many of the Det 1 guys just used the Navy's SIG P226s, did not have a lot of fond things to say about the Kimbers. Keep in mind, these guys came from Recon where we used MEU(SOC) 1911s which were mainly old mishmash of parts and frames but ran like raped apes.

Those things are baseball cards. Collectors may be interested, "scarce and collectible".

More of those were purchased as presentation pieces (like the 2 in the OP) than actually entered USMC inventory.

If my cancer treatment did not leave me so sore and fatigued, I would laugh myself off my couch.

If they are actually used as shooters the buyers will be sorely disappointed.

A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

It blows my mind what military collectors will pay, don't get me started on Clone gun builders.

Several years ago, when Det 1 was still a thing and in their prime, a couple of those pistols that were freed from the .mil were sold at auctions for over $8000 each.
