Hawaii, but I get your point.

Technology and reliability have come a long way and there is no need to set up guns differently based on location. Obviously aside from camo and lube of course.

Sir, this is the internet, where we discuss fantastical topics and scenarios and the required gear for such like jungle carbines and taking out an opposing force at 600 meters with our LPVO equipped rifles.

But to play devil's advocate here, the woods here in WA can be very jungle-ish with large timber and heavy vegetation. It can be quite unnerving to hear something 30ft away in the brush and not know if it's a deer, a black bear, a cougar, or a hairy Seattle hippie woman shitting behind a tree.

I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with the AR’s that are in use today?

What makes an AR specific to the jungle? I know when I did JOTC in Panama I carried an M16A2 without issue.

NODs are a nice amenity to have, but in triple canopy jungle, with zero illume, they’re not that great.

So honestly, sometimes Florida felt like it had to be exactly like Malaysia.

But let's do real talk. What is the best all around carbine for air jumping into arctic conditions. Must be strong and compact and able to survive severe drop tests (which rules out all AR platforms due to their weak buffer tube design), have a barrel length of no more than 12" so that a heavy duty (full auto rated) suppressor can be part of the platform and still give 1MOA results with iron sights.

Also need a featherweight LPVO that can hold zero under harsh conditions. Would of course prefer 7.62/.308 so I can shoot Federal Gold Medal Match BTHP 168 gr. Should have a AK style bolt that employs delayed roller technology with a non reciprocating / folding charging handle and a collapsible, yet full size buttstock with adjustable cheek riser and is adjustable for LOP with 24 positions.

We can call it the Arctic Warrior rifle.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

There are no mountains on the East side of North America. Those are called hills.

Reminds me of the Zep song, Going to California. "Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born".

Don't mind me, I'm just here to study the duality of man.
